Jan 19, 2019 - Del Valle Café Exhibition
Three years after I began painting, I finally fulfilled my "bucket list" dream of having a collection of my paintings shown in a gallery. My original vision was modified slightly, as the gallery wound up being my friends' cafe. However, I couldn't be more satisfied - it is more personal, intimate, and bohemian than some random, sterile art gallery in the city. I am the first artist whose work will be showcased at the Del Valle Café in La Misión, Baja California for a three month period. The plan is to feature four artists a year, thus transforming the cafe into a gallery/cafe hybrid. I am honored to be a part of that transformation.
The displaying of each new artist's work around the cafe is celebrated by a Gallery Opening fiesta, with live music, food, drinks, vendors and the opportunity to buy the featured artist's work. Here are some photos from the first event of this kind. I feel so blessed to have had such a tremendous turnout of friends, neighbors and La Misión locals. Thanks to all for a your love and support making one of my dreams come true. Special thanks to Jordan and Kourtney (who run the Del Valle Café), to Lance and Chris for coming down from the US, and to my girlfriend, Grace.
